Tottenham 1 – 2 Chelsea

Trippier and Victor Wanyama return to the lineup for Spurs while Bakayoko, Rudiger and Morata make their first start for the Blues. Chelsea are without Hazard (injury), Cahill (suspended) and Fabregas (suspended). Spurs are without Danny Rose and Erik Lamela who are both out injured. As predicted in the preview for the weekend, David Luiz is in midfield. Conte will be feeling the pressure if Chelsea drop another 3 points while Harry Kane will look to break his August curse. Chelsea also enter this game having ended their last 3 games with at least 1 player sent off.

Wow. This is a goal that is up there, Marcos Alonso with a fantastic free kick that goes top corner. Fantastic work there. Lloris in goal had no chance whatsoever.  Spurs and Wembley, just doesn’t go well together does it? Alonso is now the top scoring defender in the EPL since the start of last season.

Really stupid move by Rudiger to pick up a yellow for kicking the ball away after a free kick was given against him. Crunching tackle by Eric Dier as he goes through David Luiz and Victor Moses, Luiz looks like he’s hurt in the incident. Yellow for Dier. If Luiz goes off injured, that would be really bad news for Chelsea who are short of first team players.

Eric Dier seems to be everywhere at the moment, he just jumped into the back of Bakayoko who stayed down and needed the phsyios. Dier needs to be careful.

Luiz goes into the book for an off the ball moment where he impeded Eriksen.

Alli sets up Harry Kane who comes millimeters away from scoring his first August goal. The shot comes back off the goal post. It’s all Spurs in stoppage time of the 1st half, the ball has barely left the Chelsea half. Spurs have grown into the game and dominated, Chelsea and Courtois have done a great job so far to keep the Lilywhites at bay.

Vertonghen goes into the book for a silly tackle on Moses, he claims he got pushed into Moses by Willian. Interesting to see that Fantasy Premier League gave me points for a David Luiz assist on the Alonso free kick goal, did not know that was a thing.

Spurs are putting the pressure on Chelsea who are doing a fantastic job of keeping the lead. Tottenham aren’t letting the Blues have even a second’s rest as they are starting play off every dead ball almost instantly.

Spurs bring on Son for Eric Deir.

Willian comes close, hitting the post, Lloris was close but didn’t get a touch.

Pedro and Batshuayi coming on for Willian and Morata, both players came close to scoring a goal but get subbed off with no goals to their name. Spurs bringing on Sissoko for Davies. Tottenham making attacking changes, they want to get a win to keep their unbeaten streak at home alive.

Oh my god. Batshuayi the substitute has just scored an own goal. The substitute has been on the pitch for barely 3 minutes.

The Spurs faithful are in full voice, giving Wembley a homely feel for the Spurs. Alonso talks himself into a yellow card for arguing with the referee.

Down to the other end of the field, Alonso scores a fantastic goal for the Blues. Harry Kane goes into the book for a foul on Kante in the build up play. Credit to the referee to let them play on from the foul. Conte goes absolutely mental on the sideline celebrating that goal.

Pedro runs into the back of Trippier who stays down and is subbed off for Jansen. The final sub for Spurs. Jansen is in the wars already as he goes into Courtois who goes down for the free kick.

Spurs need Harry Kane to score a goal, they have had a lot of shots in their two games and he still hasn’t opened his account. They also need their Wembley curse to end after yet another loss at their temporary home. Chelsea will be happy to get a win after an awful showing at home versus Burnley.

Man of the Match

2 goals for Marcos Alonso and a fantastic outing for the Spanish wing back. He’s shown fantastic class today.

Spurs host the side that beat Chelsea last week, Burnley on the 27th of August while Chelsea play Everton at home on the 26th in what should be an entertaining fixture.
